Sweater weather calls for a hot drink in hand to be enjoyed in family gatherings and parties, or relaxing on your own. Warm up your winter days with these delicious beverages. That is just what mugs were made for. 1. Chai Tea Ingredients: 4 bags black tea (such as Darjeeling) 2 cups whole milk 2 cinnamon sticks 8 cardamom seeds 8 cloves 1 piece fresh ginger, sliced 4 black peppercorns 8 teaspoons sugar or to taste Method: Put the cloves, cardamom and peppercorns in a plastic bag and crush with a skillet. Place the spices in a saucepan and add the milk, ginger, 2 cups water and cinnamon sticks. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Remove from heat and add the tea bags. Cover and let it steep for 10 minutes. Strain into cups. Add sugar to taste. 2. Warm Cider Ingredients: 8 cups apple cider 2 tablespoons honey 1 orange 6 whole cloves 5 allspice berries Pinch ground nutmeg 1 piece ginger, sliced 8 cinnamon sticks Method: Peel the zest from the orange and create long strips. In a saucepan, bring the cider, allspice, honey, orange zest, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger to a simmer. Heat for 30 minutes. Pour into cups and serve warm with a cinnamon stick. 3. Mulled Wine Ingredients: 3 cups dry red wine (Burgundy, Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot) 1 orange, sliced 2 cinnamon sticks 5 whole cloves 1 piece star anise 2 teaspoons shredded lemon zest 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/2 cup sugar Method: Combine the wine, orange slices, lemon zest, cinnamon, star anise, cloves, and nutmeg in a saucepan. Spring is well and truly here! Have you seen the forecast for the long weekend? Around 30 degrees each day! Beach anyone? Or maybe a nice bbq with friends over? Our recipe will be sure to hit the spot of white and red wine drinkers alike. Usually red wine is a bit of a winter drink, but this recipe is so light and refreshing that I think it’s definitely a spring/summer cocktail.   Ingredients 1 Granny Smith apple, sliced into small pieces 1 orange, peeled and diced ½ lime cut into wedges small handful of strawberries., cut in half 375ml red wine (half a bottle) 30ml Cointreau 30ml Brandy 4 tsp white sugar ¼ tsp ground cinnamon 2 cups of ice 375ml lemonade / soda water (1 can)   Method Combine fruit, sugar, alcohol and cinnamon in a large jug. Place in fridge and allow flavours to develop for at least 2 hours (best doing it the day before). Before serving, add ice and top with lemonade.   Enjoy!    ...
