Valves and Their Functions

We all know that industries depend upon various factors to make a product. One wrong step can ruin the whole process and, then it would take a long time to fix all the things. If we specifically talk about the industries which are related to textile, then we know that they are more towards the consumption of water and gases.

The wrong flow of water or gas can ruin the whole lot. The results are opposite than our expectations. So, it is very crucial to pay attention to the small things. People generally look towards the prominent issues and try to fix them. They avoid minor obstacles, which eventually results in big ones and stops the process. In the textile industry, time is money. Delaying of few hours can become a loss of a lot of money. We can’t afford the mistakes and negligence.

Valves play a vital role in the flow of water. Valves are not only used in industries but, they are extensively used in homes, commercial areas, water plants and all the places where the presence of water and the need for water is crucial.

The Function of Valves

Let’s have a look at the function of the valves.

  • Starting and Stopping Flow

The flow of water matters in all the sector. We know that the flow of water varies according to the needs and requirements. We need to check the preferences first and then set the flow of water. For example, if we have a motor for filling the tank. The pressure and the flow of water which we need is high. When we have to fill the water tank, we need to start the valve. It allows the water to get into the tank, with full pressure. As soon as the water tank fills, we have to stop the flow. We simply stop it by turning it off.

  • Increase or Reduce a Flow

The flow of water is not the same at all the places. For example, if we want to give water to plants, then the flow of water is different. On the other hand, the need for pressure while giving water to the grounds and textile industry is different. The limitation of the flow of water is crucial. We need to consider it. The wrong pressure of water can ruin the crops. As a wise person, we don’t want to do that.

  • Controls the Direction of Flow

The direction of water is unspecified unless if we give it direction. The valves tend to control the flow of the water. We know that the water spreads as we leave it on any surface. We need to give it boundaries and a specific direction. Manually, we can’t do it. We need something that works against the flow of water effectively. Valves can work on the water better.

  • Process Pressure

To make the pressure of water, we need valves. It monitories the process of pressure and work accordingly. We need to design the valves as per the requirements of the spaces.

Types of Valves

Mainly, there are two types of valves use in industries and commercial purposes.

  1. Butterfly Valves
  1. Knife Gate Valves

Butterfly Valves Specifications

  • Light Weight

They are lightweight. We can carry valves wherever we want. It is an ideal option to use with smaller machines and motors.

  • Resistant to Rust

It resists rust and other environmental effects. The usage of butterfly valves is so easy. It extensively uses in offices, shops, restaurants, malls etc. We can use them in an open environment as there is o threat of attracting rust.

  • Resist Chloride and Other Chemicals

People having an operation which involves chemical flow can use this material. There is no chemical effect on the material of butterfly valves so we can use them without any fear.

Knife Gate Valves Specifications

  • Heavy Duty

They are heavy duty. Due to the powerful features, we can use them in big machines and motors. They tend to support the intensive flow of water.

  • Designed for Water

It designs for the flow of water. If you need a valve specifically for water, then the knife gate valve is the best option for you.
